Trial of the Gladiator
People have been worried about TotG since it was announced at Blizzcon. Trial of the Gladiator will be a mode of arenas that will be more skill based than gear based. You will buy gear/gems/enchants off of a vendor and then go to battle. People mistook this for replacing Arena Ladders or the Arena Tournament realm. It won't. This is will be for those top end players who don't want to be distracted by gear requirement and simply want to prove they are the best team or player and will be separate from the Arena Ladders. This can be queued for by any player but rating can only be earned at a certain time of day when the amount of high level players is more concentrated.
Stat Changes for Warlords
It was mentioned at Blizzcon that Stats would changed based on what Spec you were in but it was a bit confusing. Some details have emerged that kind of scares me when it comes to distributing loot for 20 man Mythic. As it stands right now, based on your spec will determine the main stat (Str, Agil and Intellect) of the item but the secondary stat (Haste/Mastery/Crit) will remain the same no matter what. So we can assume that all items going foreward when they drop off of the boss will be rolled on based on secondary stat needs. So all plate items will be rolled on by Tanks, Healers (Pallies) and DPS and the main stat will appear on whoever wins it. Deciding who gets Tokens first during progression is already a nightmare if one token is particularly stacked. So as a Resto Druid not only will I need to compete for Tier Tokens with Bears, Cats and Boomkins but belts and boots too. Only necks, rings, trinkets, cloaks and weapons will have Spirit on them at all making it more obvious who should get what. But if two specs like a particular stat (Cats and Resto Druids like Haste and Mastery) you can swap specs and get the Agility or Intellect you want for your offspec. It was also said at Blizzcon that there would just be "Druid Set bonuses" for tier so getting Tier with secondary stats every spec likes seems like a tall order.
